The 2021 Louise Purton , West Berkshire Toy Appeal Toy Appeal

Did you know?

1 in 10 West Berkshire children live below the breadline? During the festive period, thousands of families struggle as they are forced to choose between buying presents or paying bills. As a result, many children in our area receive no gifts.

The affluence of West Berkshire only makes the shadow darker for the underprivileged. The Louise Purton Toy Appeal is a chance for our community to support children, young people and families at what would otherwise be an unhappy time of year. Little gestures make a big difference.

Donating

The Louise Purton Toy Appeal depends on the generosity of local people. If you’d like to make Christmas better for children from deprived backgrounds, we ask you to donate new and unwrapped gifts for infants, children and young people up to age 19.

Claiming

If you’re worried about Christmas and how you’re going to get by, please don’t make a choice between paying bills and getting gifts: let us help. If you think you might be eligible, speak to the professional who supports your family. You can claim vouchers from West Berkshire Council, The Community Furniture Project or support workers.

Supporting

Social support workers, family support workers, school liaison officers, NHS practitioners, GPs or surgeries can all help. Please contact us to discuss how you can collect vouchers for people in your care.

Donations

Toys for the 2021 appeal. Santa and children

The monetary value of any gift isn’t important. If you’d like to help, we suggest keeping an eye out for offers such as 3 for 2. All new, unwrapped gifts are hugely appreciated and will go directly to young people who would otherwise go without. If you would like to donate a gift, we need presents suitable for boys and girls up to the age of nineteen. If you are unable to drop off your gift at one of our collection points, or are an organisation wishing to make a larger donation, Swift Logistics Group will happily come and collect. To arrange a collection, donors should call the Swift Hotline below.

The last date for donations is the 23rd of December

It had been a really difficult year and I was dreading Christmas and not being able give my kids anything. The toys gave my kids a wonderful surprise and massively reduced the stress I was under.
