The Louise Purton Toy Appeal

The Christmas Toy appeal launched back in 2006, to raise awareness of children in Newbury & West Berkshire which Social Services have deemed as from deprived or financially challenged backgrounds. These challenges become increasingly challenging during the festive period.

The children who, because of the issues and challenges faced by their circumstances are not facing a very Merry Christmas, children who, in many cases, will not have a Christmas at all.

Today 18 years later it is more important than ever to bring Seasonal cheer to the disadvantaged children of West Berkshire.

The support we’ve had over the years has been amazing and very humbling. It makes a massive difference to all the families involved, for the families we’ve helped, and those we will help in the future, thank you!

The team at Swift Logistics works closely with a range of local businesses, offering support, raising awareness and drop off points where the public can donate new toys or gifts to the appeal. Swift then arranges the logistics and then delivers the toys to a central point where families come and collect presents for their children.

Many people believe West Berkshire is an affluent area, but there’s a huge gap. For struggling families, it may not be the main gift they'll give their children this year, but it can be the difference between being able to give them two gifts or three or four.

It’s not about the monetary value, it is about helping people. If you would like to donate a gift, we need presents suitable for boys and girls, from newborn to age nineteen. Gifts need to be new and unwrapped. For those unable to drop off their gifts, or for organisations that wish to make a large donation, Swift Logistics Group will happily come and collect. To arrange a collection, donors should call the Swift Hotline on:
